In the Directory, programs listed include military legal assistance offices, legal aid and pro bono organizations, lawyer referral and information services, and military-specific programs where available. Any of these programs may impose income-eligibility limits, provide help in only certain areas of law, or may require payment of some costs.
Free Legal Answers is a virtual legal advice clinic. Qualifying users post their civil legal question to their state’s website. Users will then be emailed when their question receives a response. Attorney volunteers, who must be authorized to provide pro bono assistance in their state, log in to the website, select questions to answer, and provide legal information and advice. Volunteer attorneys will not answer criminal law questions.
For veterans issues—including VA benefits, discharge upgrades, and similar veterans legal issues—qualified users may post legal questions, and volunteer attorneys may provide legal advice, on the ABA Federal Free Legal Answers website.

The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program
The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program provides pro bono attorneys to financially qualified veterans with meritorious claims when their benefits appeals reach the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
